AI can turn an approved outline or draft into brief cues, transitions and timing prompts, but the presenter must verify facts and keep the notes usable during a live talk. Follow the specific presentation software’s display and sharing behavior before putting confidential material in notes.

AI can draft a first pass from an approved outline, slide text or speaker’s own source material. Ask for concise cues, a transition to the next point and any timing reminders. Tell it not to add facts beyond the source. Then compare every claim, statistic, quotation and date with the original material. A model can misread a slide, invent an explanation or place a transition under the wrong section. Keep a citation or source pointer where you need to confirm evidence later, and do not treat generated notes as verified just because they sound fluent. Use the notes to speak to the audience rather than read dense paragraphs. Rehearse with the notes in the view you will use on stage. Microsoft documents that PowerPoint Presenter View can show notes on the presenter’s monitor while the audience sees the slides; other software, modes, exports or printouts may behave differently. Check the current documentation and your actual setup. Notes can also contain unpublished information, personal data or internal strategy, so apply the same access and sharing rules as the deck itself. Before presenting, verify slide order, names, numbers, transitions and any action requests. Remove notes that are outdated or no longer appropriate to share. If the deck is distributed afterward, inspect the exported file and confirm what speaker notes it contains. AI can accelerate organization, but the presenter remains responsible for the accuracy, timing and discretion of everything in the notes.

Presentation assistants may become better at generating notes from a deck and adapting them for timing or audience level. Their output will still depend on slide context and source accuracy, and a polished cue can remain factually wrong or unusable on stage. Software interfaces and note-visibility controls may change, so presenters should test the current display and export workflow. Human rehearsal remains the best way to learn whether notes support a clear, natural talk rather than pulling attention back to the screen.
A lecturer gives an approved slide outline to AI and asks for one key message and one transition per slide, then checks each cue against the course material.
