What this certificate is, and is not
AI Literacy Certificate of Completion, AI Understanding. It shows you finished our free course and passed our exam. It is not accredited by a school or government body, and the exam is not proctored. Employers and schools decide for themselves what a certificate is worth, so we say plainly what it covers: eight lessons and a 25-question exam on AI basics. Anyone can check yours on its public verification page.

Is the AI certificate really free?
Yes. The course, the final exam and the certificate are free. You only need a free account so we can save your result and issue a certificate with your name on it.
How long does the course take?
About 2.5 hours: eight short lessons of 15 to 20 minutes, then a 25-question exam. You can stop and come back any time.
What do I need to pass?
80% or higher on the 25-question final exam. If you miss, you can retake it after a 30-minute break, with a fresh set of questions.
Who issues the certificate?
AI Understanding, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It is a certificate of completion for our free course. It is not accredited by a school or government body, and the exam is not proctored.
Can I add it to LinkedIn?
Yes. When you pass, you get an Add to LinkedIn Profile button, plus a public verification page anyone can open to check your certificate.
Do I need any technical background?
No. The course is written for beginners and uses plain language.
What is the paid certificate?
An optional upgrade for people who want a Verified credential backed by 50 quiz passes, or a proctored, timed final. The free certificate stays free either way.
