Pfupiso

Its comments can be vague, wrong or biased toward a generic style. Give it the prompt and rubric if allowed, request specific examples, then choose revisions by checking the essay’s purpose and instructor guidance.

Kudzika Kwakadzika

Feedback is useful when it helps a writer see what a reader cannot follow and decide what to change. Purdue OWL advises writers to restate reviewer comments, make an action list and prioritize revisions while remembering that the author owns the piece. AI can provide a quick additional set of comments, but it may miss the assignment’s central demand or praise a polished paragraph whose evidence is weak. Start with the essay prompt, audience, draft stage and allowed AI-use rules. Ask focused questions. For a first draft, request feedback on the claim, organization and evidence before sentence-level polish. Ask the model to point to the exact paragraph or sentence that creates a problem and explain why. A comment such as 'improve clarity' is too general unless it identifies what a reader could misunderstand. If the model suggests a rewrite, compare it with the intended meaning and voice; fluency can erase nuance or introduce unsupported facts. Sort feedback into accept, test and reject. Check each high-impact comment against the rubric and source material. A model may wrongly call a valid alternative interpretation an error or prefer a conventional essay structure where the assignment invites experimentation. Seek instructor or peer input for conflicts the model cannot resolve. Make a revision plan that begins with argument and evidence, then moves to paragraph flow and proofreading. Preserve the original draft so changes can be assessed. After revising, reread the paper as a whole. Did the new paragraph actually support the thesis? Did a cited source still say what the sentence now claims? If the course requires disclosure, describe the feedback help used. The useful role of AI is to make potential reader confusion visible and create a checklist; the writer decides which changes improve the work and remains responsible for the final essay.

The Future of Getting Essay Feedback from AI

Writing assistants may become better at connecting comments to rubrics and showing which passage triggered each suggestion. That would make feedback easier to challenge instead of accepting a global score. Educators can teach students to justify revisions and preserve their own voice when a model proposes generic wording. The risk is that rapid comments encourage endless polishing without stronger reasoning. A good workflow produces a short, prioritized revision plan and a final essay the writer can explain and defend. Source checks remain part of that plan.

Real-World Implementation

A student asks which paragraph does not support the stated thesis.

An AI assistant cites a sentence where a transition leaves the reader confused.

A writer rejects advice to flatten a distinctive voice into generic phrasing.

An instructor checks whether feedback aligns with the actual assignment rubric.
