概述
Verify the clip's origin, context, and corroborating evidence, and treat visual artifacts as prompts for investigation rather than proof that a video is synthetic.
深入探討
Start with provenance rather than trying to diagnose pixels alone. Find the account that first posted the clip, the earliest available upload, and any longer or higher-quality version. Check the caption, date, location, and whether reputable sources report the same event. Reposts can remove context, crop out watermarks, or add subtitles that change the apparent meaning. A real video can be misleadingly edited, and a synthetic clip can be posted as satire or fiction. If you inspect the visuals, look for inconsistencies across time. Hands, teeth, jewelry, signs, and background objects may change shape or position between frames. Text may be unstable. A person may appear to touch an object without consistent contact, or a shadow or reflection may not track the scene. These are clues, not a checklist that always works: compression, motion blur, low light, camera movement, and ordinary editing can create similar defects. Listen as well as watch. Lip motion, room acoustics, background noise, and the timing of impacts may not fit the scene. But dubbing and postproduction also create mismatches in authentic footage. Inspect the clip at normal speed and frame by frame, while remembering that slowing video can make normal motion appear strange. Avoid drawing conclusions from one screenshot or one artifact. Look for technical context where available. Original files may contain metadata, but social platforms often strip or rewrite it, so missing metadata proves little. Provenance credentials can record origin and editing history when present and intact, but they are not a universal detector and can be absent from genuine media. Detection tools produce estimates that depend on their training data and may fail on new models or transformed footage. Before publishing an accusation, seek independent corroboration and give the source a chance to clarify.

The Future of How to Spot AI-Generated Video
Video generators are improving motion consistency, while social platforms are experimenting with labels and provenance signals. These changes may make crude visual tells less useful and help viewers trace some media histories when the information survives distribution. No technical marker will cover every camera, editor, and platform. Media literacy will increasingly combine source checking, contextual reporting, and careful uncertainty. Newsrooms and platforms can help by preserving original links and clearly explaining how a clip was verified. Verification processes should adapt as distribution methods and editing software change.
現實世界的實施
Pause a clip at several points to inspect whether text, logos, or small objects change shape between frames.
Compare a viral clip with the original post and look for earlier uploads or a longer version that supplies context.
Check whether reflections, shadows, and object contact remain consistent as people move through a scene.
Use a reverse image search on a clear frame, then independently confirm any matching source before sharing a claim.

常見問題
What is How to Spot AI-Generated Video?
Visual clues can help you question a suspicious video, but modern generation and ordinary editing make any single tell unreliable. Verify the clip's origin, context, and corroborating evidence, and treat visual artifacts as prompts for investigation rather than proof that a video is synthetic.
A clip has a distorted hand in one frame. What is the most careful interpretation?
Artifacts can arise from generation or ordinary capture and editing conditions.
Why look for the earliest upload and a longer version of a viral clip?
Original context and surrounding footage can clarify what a cropped repost omits.
Why can a detector score change after a platform recompresses video?
Transformations can alter the signals used by a detector and affect its performance.
What can signed provenance information help establish?
Provenance supports file history claims, not the truth of the depicted scene.
What should you do before publicly accusing someone based on a clip?
High-stakes claims require evidence beyond a single visual clue or tool output.
