概要

ERNIE Bot is a conversational product name; capabilities and availability depend on version and date.

ディープダイブ

The 2019 ERNIE paper introduced a knowledge-masking strategy that uses phrase and entity information. Later ERNIE papers describe larger models and training methods; their findings are version-specific. Baidu announced ERNIE Bot in March 2023, initially describing invited access. Later product access and features can change, so historical launch details should not be presented as current availability. “ERNIE” is used for a family and associated products, not a single unchanged model. ERNIE expands to Enhanced Representation through kNowledge IntEgration. The 2019 model’s knowledge masking targets entity and phrase spans in addition to word-level tokens. ERNIE 3.0 Titan is a later large-scale knowledge-enhanced pretraining model for language understanding and generation. The original 2019 ERNIE paper reports results on five Chinese NLP tasks. Baidu announced ERNIE Bot in March 2023; the company’s release notice separately said invited access would begin March 16, so announcement and access are distinct.
