Accuracy checks are essential. Chatbots can make arithmetic errors when calculating in text, invent or misstate paragraph references, and miss standards updates issued after their training data ends. Verify summaries in the FASB codification or IFRS standards themselves, test formulas on sample rows that include edge cases such as blanks and duplicates, and tie any figures back to the ledger. Confidentiality matters too. Do not paste identifiable client data into a consumer chatbot account; use tools your firm has approved, with appropriate data controls, and anonymize where possible. A common misconception is that the chatbot knows your ledger or client; it only knows what you give it.
