This page explains how AI Understanding uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies. Essential cookies support secure sign-in and core functionality. Every visit is counted anonymously, without cookies or browser storage, so we know how many people use our free resources. Measurement cookies (Google Ads and fuller site analytics) are optional and are enabled only after you choose “Allow measurement.” That same choice also loads Sentry in your browser for error and performance monitoring. Sentry does not record session replays. Until you choose, Google’s consent mode stays set to denied: no ad cookies are stored and only cookieless, non-personalized signals about ad visits are sent. Choosing “Decline” stops the Google tag from loading. Declining does not limit access to the site.
Anonymous visit counting (everyone)
Our analytics provider, PostHog, counts visits for every visitor in a cookieless mode. In this mode no cookie, local storage or session storage entry is created on your device, you are not identified or linked to an account, no profile is built and no session recording is made. To tell visits apart, PostHog computes a one-way hash of your IP address, browser user agent and our domain with a secret that changes every day, so the same browser cannot be recognized from one day to the next. We record only your country, from the country code our network provider, Cloudflare, attaches to each request; no city or region is recorded. We record which pages are viewed, the referring site and campaign tags (UTM), device and browser type, and actions such as starting a quiz or clicking a resource link.

- Site analytics (optional): A PostHog cookie and browser storage entries (names starting with ph_) that recognize a returning browser, link visits to your account when you are signed in, and allow a small sample of visits to be recorded as session replays with form inputs masked. Microsoft Clarity (cookies such as _clck and _clsk) records how pages are used, also only after you allow measurement.
- Error and performance monitoring: Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) loads in the browser only after you allow measurement, and it does not record session replays. Error reports from our servers and edge runtime are part of operating the site. Those reports do not include cookies, authorization headers, request bodies, or user information. In production, about 2% of performance traces are sent. Sentry processes this data in the United States.

We store your choice on this device for up to 180 days. Use “Cookie choices” in the footer at any time to change or withdraw it. Withdrawing stops Google measurement, clears accessible Google measurement cookies, stops Microsoft Clarity, removes PostHog’s cookie and browser storage, and stops Sentry in the browser from sending further events; your visits are then counted only anonymously, as described above. It does not erase information already sent to Google, PostHog, or Sentry. Other local site preferences are described in our Privacy Policy.
