My AI is a conversational assistant built into Snapchat. It can answer questions and participate in chats, but its responses can be incorrect, biased, harmful, or misleading. Snapchat advises users not to rely on it for advice or share confidential or sensitive information. A parent can discuss ordinary uses such as brainstorming or definitions while making clear that urgent, health, legal, or safety concerns need trusted human support. Snapchat’s My AI privacy page says the service stores content sent to and received from My AI until it is deleted in the app or the account is deleted. Family controls are one part of supervision; they do not replace conversation about online interactions or a trusted adult for serious concerns.
