The Tripura government has launched a state-level initiative to introduce school students to Artificial Intelligence (AI). The ‘AI Utsav–Skill Competition 2026’ will provide students from Classes VI to XII studying in government schools across all eight districts of Tripura with access to free AI courses through the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), the national digital skilling platform operated by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The initiative is expected to cover around 1,920 government schools that have students from Classes VI to XII, Skill Development Director Pradeep Krishnaraj said. According to the state government, the initiative is intended to strengthen students’ digital confidence and help them develop skills that could be relevant in a rapidly changing technology landscape. Students who successfully complete the AI courses will be able to download a national certificate through the Skill India Digital Hub. The certification will provide formal recognition of the learning undertaken by participating students while giving them early exposure to Artificial Intelligence.
